WELCOME

On behalf of the Chi chapter of Chi Omega, welcome! My name is Madison Gallaher and I have the privilege of serving as President of Chi Omega at Transylvania University. With 180 chapters and over 345,000 initiated members, we are proud to share our bond with sisters across the nation who pursue Chi Omega’s values of scholarship, career and personal development, campus involvement, community service, friendship, and high standards of personnel. As the largest women’s organization in the nation, the possibilities are endless for Chi Omegas.

It has been an honor to witness the difference our organization has made on both the Transylvania and Lexington communities. Philanthropically, we have contributed countless hours and donations to our national philanthropy, Make A Wish. Also, on a local level, we raise over 10,000 cans each year for God’s Pantry.

The ways in which we contribute to campus culture at Transylvania are apparent in that 100 percent of our members are involved in two or more organizations outside of Chi Omega. These activities include admissions ambassadors, First Engagement scholars, Writing Center consultants, Student Government Association senators, fine arts participants, athletes, resident advisors and more. I am inspired by my sisters who are not only incredibly involved, but also manage to place scholarship before social obligation, leading to our earning of the highest GPA of all Greek organizations on campus for the past three semesters.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am to be a part of such an incredible organization. I always feel so lucky to be able to be surrounded by such devoted, inspiring, and authentic sisters on a daily basis. Whether it’s receiving encouragement from sisters when you are abroad, getting a thoughtful note outside your door on a hard day, or sisters cheering you on at your sporting events, our sisterhood always supports and surrounds us. Because of Chi Omega I am a better leader, friend, student, and person and I am excited to see this sisterhood continue to shape me for the rest of my life.

Loyally,
Madison Gallaher
